Prints to hang on our walls!!!

I'm really excited this week because we are finally hanging some of my wedding photography pictures on the walls of our house!

In nearly 2 1/2 years of owning my 1D MarkII camera, and shooting more than 300,000 pictures, I've only seen about 3 or 4 prints from my camera. All of my prints for my clients are shipped directly to them.... So it's VERY exciting to see all of these BEAUTIFUL prints being delivered!!

Here are just a few of the many prints that will be up soon!

Another new album design!!!

Cheryl just finished yet another AMAZING album design for me! I can't wait to see this puppy in final form!

My buddy Shaun Austin just started an album company, In light Albums. I don't think he has a website up yet, but you can check out his camera store/online photo lab at InLightPhoto.com

Anyway, we designed this album specifically to try out his services and get a sample from them! I can't wait to share the final product with you guys!!!

In the meantime, check out the slideshow of the digital design by clicking here. We photographed this wedding at Firestone Vineyards in Santa Ynez. Sooo beautiful!!

I was interviewed for the KTLA Morning News

I was recently interviewed for the KTLA's morning news for Kurt the Cyber Guy's section.

Once again, they were curious about "public shaming" via videos on the internet, and my video of my kind old neighbor stealing my newspaper was once again the center of attention. So, I got up early, drove down to LA and explained my story for the camera.

The interview should be airing on Monday morning at about 7:50 a.m., and the video should also be available online at this link: http://ktla.trb.com/news/local/cyberguy sometime around the airing of the piece.

You can see my original video on youtube by clicking here.

My February Newsletter is ready to go!!

If you aren't a subscriber to my newsletter it's not too late to sign up!

You can click on the link at the right to check it out, or better yet, you can sign up for all of my future newsletters by filling out the form to the right!

I think it's the neatest thing going back and looking at the previous month because it allows me to see all that I've done. It's amazing sometimes how you'll just work like mad, then someone will ask you what you've been up to, you toss out that default answer and then think to yourself, wow, is that really the ONLY thing I've been doing for the past couple of weeks!!...

I hope you enjoy reading the newsletter!!

I love photoshop!!

Check out this before and after of a picture I editted for my sample album!

I don't usually end up doing a ton of photoshop to my pictures. But, seeing as this was going to be printed at 12"x24" I felt that cleaning it up just a little bit would really add to things! (I have the print here and let me tell you, wow!!!)

Wow!!! My 2007 Sample Album ROCKS!!!

I just got the prints in from my photo lab for my sample album and everything looks AMAZING!!!!

This album is going to be HUGE!! Can you say, "Two Volume"!!!! The album is 74 sides or 148 pages!!

You can see the slideshow of the entire album by clicking here!

(edit)
Man... I was trying to keep it a secret, but I've been getting a bunch of emails asking me who designed my album... Well, my BEAUTIFUL and talented wife did!! Cheryl May Halberg (we just processed the paperwork this week to finalize her getting her named changed... I think today at the bank was the first time she had to sign "Halberg" and she did it better than I do!)

Some shots from my trip to photograph a wedding at Block Island

I was on in Block Island, Rhode Island this past September helping my friend Jill Graziano photograph a wedding and the day after we cruised around the island and snapped a few pictures of each other!

I got soooo busy planning my own wedding after I got back that I never had a chance to share these pictures! I think this might be one of the few times where I've had the camera pointed at me and I don't feel like I look like an absolute dork! (amazing how the camera can lie!!!)

Jaime and Jeff Malibu/Santa Monica Engagement Pictures!

I had a blast a few weekends ago shooting Jeff and Jaime's engagment pictures in Malibu and Santa Monica! It's always fun to shoot along the coast and I can't wait for their wedding!!!

We just designed an AWESOME engagement sign-in book for these two! I hope that every couple I ever shoot engagment pictures for has a chance to get one of these to use at their wedding!

Finally adding some more pictures

Wow... I'm a bad blogger!! Bad!! lol

I thought I'd uploaded these pictures on Monday... oops.

I had such a blast shooting these pictures! It had been raining all week, but we decided to make the trip up to Knapps Castle and use the crazy weather to our advantage! Sooooo stoked on how they came out! I'll definitely be heading up to the mountains to shoot at this location more often!!!

I used to be decent on a bike...

I've been cleaning up my hard drives and organizing all the files and I found this video that my buddy Zak Maeda (pro trials rider extrordinaire) made of me riding.

Believe it or not, I actually used to be a sponsored bike rider. I rode for Cannondale, Marzocchi, Uptime, SRAM/Gripshift, Magura and more.

It's been about a year since I last straddled my bike... but my buddy Zak recently asked me to meet him for a ride, so maybe I'll post up that video to show you guys how much difference a year off the bike has made. (amazingly enough, sometimes I'm more smooth when I haven't ridden in a while)

Computer Crash...

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up... My computer had a pretty fatal crash last night.

I am in the process of attempting to recover emails (everything else is safely backed up) So... if you're waiting for a reply to an email you sent to me, please shoot me another email in case I am unable to recover your notice.

I'm using this opportunity to make the switch from Entourage email and calendar to Mac's Mail and Ical programs which can be backed up online! (this should be a GREAT feature!)

I hope this isn't an inconvenience for too many of you. You can email me at tim@timhalberg.com or call the office at 805.275.2275.

I introduce, my buddy Mark :-)

The moment I shot these pictures at a wedding in early 2006, I knew they were going to make a GREAT animation.

Seriously, I think this nails who Mark is! (Beyond an awesome wedding photographer!!)

Wine...

I was first truly introduced to wine about 2 and 1/2 years ago by my sister when she took my parents and I wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley.

On that trip, I couldn't stand ANY of the wines we tried!!!! AT ALL!!! But, I talked myself into buying two bottles of Firestone Riseling and forced myself to drink them with dinner over the next week or two.

Well, I don't know what was wrong with me back then, but now I LOVE LOVE LOVE wine. (I'm actually taking two classes on wines at SBCC right now! I thought I was signing up for lecture classes, but blow my mind, included in the class fees is TASTING at EVERY class meeting!!!) So, I'm taking one class which is the "Wine Intro" class, and the other is a class devoted to French wines. Too fun!

So, in attempting to expand my horizons on the topic, I ventured out onto the web for more info, and I came up with the most awesome wine video blog ever! Gary Vaynerchuk posts his reviews of wines DAILY (what an inspiration to me to blog more often!!!) (warning, if you're like me, you'll spend hours and hours working at your desktop while watching these videos on your laptop!)

Yes, I can multi task:

Don't miss the slideshows!!!

I keep forgetting to put the slideshow links in my posts!

With every wedding I shoot, be it in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, New Jersey, wherever, there will be a slideshow from every wedding I shoot under the "recent weddings" section of TimHalberg.com

Oh, and for anyone who wants to check it out, I updated the bio in the about me section of my website!

Shlawna finally got married!!!!

Shlawna is an old friend of mine from highschool, so it was AWESOME to see her get married on January 19! (as a side note of sorts, it was hilarious that she set her wedding date purposely on the 19th because this is her favorite number!)

Her wedding was in Los Angeles at the LDS Temple. It was the perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold, so we had a chance to spend a pretty good amount of time cruising around taking pictures!
